Notes

  • Monthly expenses — Enter all recurring costs such as rent, food, internet, and software subscriptions. Add or remove items as needed.
  • Desired profit — The profit percentage to add on top of base expenses. For example, 30% means a 30% markup above your expenses.
  • Estimated tax — The income tax you expect to pay, so your post-tax income still covers your needs.
  • Savings — Savings goal as a percentage of expenses. For example, 10% of your total expenses.
  • All calculations run in your browser. No data is sent to any server.

Freelance Hourly Rate Calculator

A free tool for freelancers who want to know what hourly rate to charge. Enter your monthly expenses, set your desired profit, and specify your work days and hours per day. The calculator produces your hourly, daily, and monthly/yearly target income automatically.

How the calculation works

  • Expense base — Sum of all expenses plus the chosen savings percentage.
  • Add profit — Multiply by the profit percentage, e.g. 30% = ×1.30.
  • Divide by tax — Divide by (1 − tax rate) so your net income is still sufficient.
  • Divide by work hours — (Work days × hours/day) gives the hourly rate.

Privacy & Security

All calculations run in your browser with JavaScript. No personal data or financial numbers are sent to any server.
